Split a dinner bill or holiday cost
Enter the expense name and total, add the participants and select who paid. A 120-unit bill shared equally by three people gives each a 40-unit share. If one person owes a different amount, use amounts or percentages and check the totals before saving.
See paid and outstanding shares
Mark a person’s share as settled after receiving the payment. Separate outstanding amounts from completed records when reviewing the trip or meal. Settling an entry updates your ledger; it does not initiate a transfer.
How does this differ from a shared budget?
Expense splitting assigns shares of a particular bill. A shared budget gives the household a broader view of income and spending. A debt ledger records amounts between people. Choose the tool for the question you are answering and avoid counting the same expense twice.
